What is HDI? Critically analyze the trend of HDI of the developed countries and SAARC countries.

HDI is the Index to measure the level of quality of life through the computing of Health Index, Education Index and Income Index. HDI ensures the level of attainment of quality of life.
Among the developed countries of the world, Norway stood superior at 1st rank achieving 0.944 HDI. It falls in the category of high human development countries, and is followed by Australia, Switzerland, Denmark respectively. Serbia, Afghanistan are some countries with low HDI.
Srilanka is the superior amongst the SAARC countries placing 93rd and 73rd rank achieving 0.755 and 0.757 HDI in 2006 and 2014 AD respectively. Among SAARC countries Afghanistan a least position 171st rank with the score of 0.540 out of 188 countries in the world. Hence, the HDI of different SAARC countries shows, the human development is good among these countries.
