Opportunity Fund Application

Let’s talk about what USEF Nepal looks for in your application. It is clear actually. They want to see that you are academically deserving and you don’t have enough money to pay upfront costs.

Now, are you academically deserving? It’s okay to question yourself or doubt yourself. Everyone does so. If you meet the academic criteria for the program, you are a deserving student.

Financially, are you eligible? Your expected family contribution should be around $2000. If your family’s monthly income is around 20,000 rupees, you are the one who needs this support. If you are a little richer, you can still say that you are poor. Who knows, haha. You decide. However, if your family earns above 50,000 rupees per month, leave this opportunity for the needy.

The deadline of the application is usually March 21. So, you can start preparing your application in the beginning of March. You will have to submit your personal details, financial details, academic transcripts, and essays. You will be asked about your parents' income, ethnic background, whether you have taken the SAT or not, how did you fund your secondary education, and so on. The first rule is not to lie. If you lie, you will be caught.
