Why the supreme court is called the court of records?

Supreme court saves all the cases, decisions and so on that it has solved or made for the memory and testimony in the futures. It takes support of these saved data or info to solve the cases in the future. Therefore, the supreme court is also called the court of records because all its decisions are recorded for memory and testimony.
