Judiciary means one of the important organ of thestate, that safeguards the constitution and subordinate lawsandacts for the protection of fundamental rights of peopleand maintenanceof rule of law in the country.

Judiciary is vital in thecase of democraticcountrybecause it safeguards the people by punishingthose who have exploited order of law. There is a greatchance to exploit law and judiciarymonitorsand checkstheproper implementation of law, if not found theorder of law. Judiciary goes for punishing. Hence, therole of judiciaryremains important for a democratic country. It alsosuggests the legislature to bring outthe law in the favorof people.

Supreme court saves all the cases, decisions and so onthat it has solved or made for thememoryandtestimony in thefutures. It takes support of thesesaved dataor infoto solve the cases in the future.Therefore, the supreme court is also called the courtof records because all its decisions are recorded formemory and testimony.

Judiciary is called the guardian of the constitution becauseit has only the right to advocate about the constitutionand safeguards the fundamental rights from being exploited.It also follows the proper checks and provides invigilation to safeguardpeoples.

Judiciary should be given independent rights withoutany temptations for the protection of rights of thepeople. It should have been providedautonomouslegislative power that can be usefulin the caseofprecedence.

The qualifications required to be eligible for theappointment of the Judge of the High Court are:
-Must be Nepali citizen.
-Bachelor Degree in law andworked as Judge of districtcourt or worked at least for five years as a first classgazetteofficer in judicial service or graduatein lawand 10 years experience as a senior advocate or graduatein law and 10 years teaching experience in law, researchor worked in any other field of judicial service.

The functions of judiciary are:
-Judicial work.
-Interpretation of constitution and law.
-Protection of people's rights and freedom.
-Advisory work.
