There is great diversity in climate and vegetation of north America. The southern and central part of prairies is hot as the northern part is very cold. Central plains remain very hot during summer and cold during winter. It rain throughout the year in western part of Canada and around St, Lawrence river. The southern part of USA is highly influenced by hurricanes. The south-western part is dry and there are some deserts. In northern part of America there is vast evergreen coniferous forest. The central lowlands has extensive grasslands. There is deciduous forest around St. Lawrence river. The prairies produces the largest amount of wheat in the world.
