Let’s talk about another important thing that you should focus on during highschool.

Universities/Colleges in the US want to see your involvement in activities related to your preferred major of study. Therefore, you should lead/involve in club activities, participate and win the competitions, seize the Olympiad medals, be the class representatives and so on.

There are different qualities to be demonstrated. Let’s briefly talk about them.

1. Leadership

Admission officers want to see you as a leader. They want to paint your picture in their university. Therefore, you can serve as the president or vice-president of clubs, maybe play as a sports team captain. You can even start an organization and bring people together to work on a vision. Act what is best for you.

2. Social service

They also want to see you making a social impact. You can volunteer in a social organization that you think is giving back to the community.

3. Academic competitions

Admission officers love the people who are Olympiad delegates. So, take this opportunity. Perform well in national and international Olympiads where it be Math Olympiad, or Physics Olympiad. Select the best one for you. In addition, you participate in other intra or inter school competitions as well.

4. Research paper

You can write a research paper on the topic that you are interested in and publish it. You can even talk to some professors before applying about your research and improve it. Research papers impress admission officers to a greater extent.

5. Personal projects

You can work on your personal projects as well. Maybe you can build an app, or write articles, compose music, produde videos, and so on.

Important thing to remember here is that you should not forget to achieve a great GPA while you participate in ECAs. You can participate in ECA after your board exams as well but you cannot improve your GPA. So, GPA first, okay!
