Academic Grades

Let’s talk about how important academic grades are while applying to the USA education and why we should achieve good grades in high-school.

Your GPA influences your chance of getting admission and scholarships. Getting A+ grade is the first step of impressing admission officers of competitive universities. There are exceptions that people with average grades are admitted but only very few students fall in this exception. If you have a chance to seize that A+, go for it. Don’t wait for an exception to happen.

Students who got into the top and competitive universities with full ride scholarships usually had grades above 3.60. Some of them got admission offers with lower grades but they had excellent SAT scores of 1500+. Some got in with 3.4 as well but their other components of application were excellent.

If you have A grade, you have good chances of getting 50% to 100% tuition scholarships. This leaves you with living costs, books, insurance and so on. You won’t realize how difficult it is to pay for US education until you actually start paying. So, why not work hard now and get good grades?

If you have grades like 2.8, you can still apply but you have less chances of receiving scholarships. If your parents can help, you are lucky. Also, as you follow this guide, you will build your best application that presents you to the college in the best way possible.

In the next article, I will talk about discovering your passion and interests. It’s better for you to decide your field of study. Let’s meet there.
