    First,  going over what the term "transferable" skill is; those skills which can be used in a variety of different job posts as well as every day life is transferable skill. In short, it refers to the skills having application over a wide range of areas, subjects & industries.

    Now, to answer if Programming is a transferable skill; the answer to that ques is yes, Programming is definitely a transferable skill. At first sight, it seems as though programming is applicable only to the tech industry. However, it is far from the truth programming can be useful in various tasks such as automating daily monotonous tasks in service industry, keeping track of user data in sales and marketing industry & sales industry, building websites if you want to build a startup or business, etc but lets not forget the highly transferability of programming skill in other areas related to it. For eg: if you have properly learned javascript for web development, it will may it way easier for you to learn python for data structures and algorithms    & u can even pick up new programming languages easily if you already know one from the start.


TL;DR: Yes, Programming is a transferable skills due to it's wide range of application.
