Security Council is very powerful organ of UNO. It consists of five permanent members and ten temporary members. The USA, Britain, France, Russia and China are the permanent members and the temporary members are elected from the general assembly for two years on general basis.
In this way security Council is formed.
Its functions are:
- It maintains International peace and security.
- It makes recommendations for the appointment of Secretary general and Judges of the International court of Justice.
