ISFAA

ISFAA stands for International Student Financial Aid Application. Many private universities and colleges use this application to determine your financial need and award you need-based scholarships and grants. ISFAA is free to submit and you can download this form from the College Board’s website or respective universities website. You can submit it by mailing the form PDF to the admission office’s email or by uploading the PDF in the application portal.

Check out College Board’s ISFAA pdf here: 2021-22 International Student Financial Aid Application. Notice that it is a pdf for the year 2021-22. You should find it for the year you are applying. It is as simple as googling International Student Financial Aid Application PDF [current year].

How to fill in the ISFAA form?

If you want to check out an example of complete ISFAA, here is the one that I filled in 2021-22.

Be real with the financial figures and research what is the average EFC of the admitted students of the university that you are applying to.

You can fill in the pdf using Microsoft Edge browser which allows you to edit pdf. There are many websites online that allow you to edit pdf. If required, you can print the blank pdf, fill it in with a pen and scan it to get a digital copy.

For the signature, you can sign in a plain white paper, click a bright photo, and remove the background in photoshop. Or, you can simply type the name of the signature holder in an italic font.

Now that your ISFAA is ready, email it to the admission office, or upload it to the application portal.

In the next article, I will talk about different full ride scholarships offered by universities in the USA.
