These days, many high schools have different student clubs ranging from computer science club to eco club to debate club. Your school probably has many.

What you do is you pick a club and enter as a member when you are in class 11. In class 12, try to contribute to the club taking an executive role. It can be president or secretary or any other role. Try to introduce new activities that have never happened before. Try to create a tangible impact, so that you can write about it in your resume, activity list and essays.

While you work in a club, you establish good relationships with the moderators as well as school directors and the principal. Show them your good character. This will help you in getting the recommendation letter when you need it.

If you work genuinely to make a difference in the life of people (or at least your friends), it will be a great thing to talk about. You can organize events, competitions, and so on.
