Why are the eggs of a silkworm kept below 18°c during winter?

We all know that, the leaves of mulberry are not available during winter. If available also, the silkworm cannot survive there because of coldness. And the egg of Silkworm only hatches once it get temperature of 18°C to 25°C. So, it can be stored for the desired time below 18°c. As a result, to grow the silkworm in favorable season, it kept below 18°c during winter.
