Explain the role of stomata in transpiration.

Stomata are the pores in the epidermis through which gaseous exchange takes place.

Stomatal transpiration is the process of loss of water inform of water vapours through the stomata present on the epidermal surface of thw leaf,green stem etc.

Stomata arw surrounded by two guard cells that controls the opening and closing of stomata.Stomata opens periodically so that there is not continuous loss of water . stomata plays important role in transpiration as it controls the rate of transpiration. Stomata regulates the level of excess water in the plant.
