“I dreamed of celebrating Christmas of 2021 in Newyork when I first booked my appointment; unfortunately, I did not get a date on time. So, I booked it for Jan 3rd, 2022.

Here’s my long journey of getting a U.S Visa without losing hope, keeping patience and keeping on trying. “

**1st Attempt **

Jan 3rd, 2022, American VO (Chasma laagako)

VO: Where are you going?

Me: I am going to Caldwell University, New Jersey

VO: How many universities have you applied to?

Me: Only two, and I got accepted in both of them.

VO: What do your parents do?

Me: Told

VO: What are your plan after graduation?

Me: Told

Decision: Pass me a yellow slip, and said that you are not qualified for visa. So sad ma, ekxhin ma mero sathi haru ko ni lagena raicha, ma chai makh tespachi

**2nd Attempt **

Jan 10th, 2022(fresher date), American Lady (sojho dekina hunthiyo)

Status: Interview with same university

VO: Have you made any changes?

Me: Yes, I have done few changes

VO: Why this uni?

Me: Told

VO: Why this major?

Me: Told

VO: Tell me about your funding?

Me: Told (it was convincing to her)

VO: What are you going to do after you finish your study?

Me: Told

Decision: You have not made any changes passed with yellow slip again

Ma chai bhaira maskindei gaye feri, because fall 2022 ko universities bata decision audei thiyo, so no worries!!

**3rd Attempt **

May 5th, 2022(fresher date), Koren Dai (Herdei kasto junggeko jasto)

Status: Interview different university with an almost full-tuition scholarship, Norwich University

VO: Who rejected you last time?

Me: American VO, and American Lady

VO: All are American here (loud voice me)

VO: Why were you rejected last time?

Me: I was not able to convince them very well, and talked about what I did in-between now.

VO: Wow, Norwich University

Me: yeah, like that

VO: Oh! Why did you have low grades?

Me: I did not get a chance to go for a real exam so all my grades were predicted. Tespachi chup chap I have not thought about this question before, so maile kei ni bolna sakina

Decision: Feri yellow slip

Yo din mero sathi haruko almost sabai ko visa lagisakeko thiyo, so, I was not losing my hope to go for one more appointment. Bholi palta gaye bank, ani I payed MRV Fee

**4th Attempt **

Paila paila dress code testo lageko thiyeina, so this time, I went like thulei contract garna gaako jastei with proper matching in suit (red tie, blue shirt, & blue color suit)

Yespali chai maile testei May 19 bata preparation start gareko thiyo, kaile rati 8 bhaje visa lageko sathi ko ghar gayo, interview practice garyo, kaile bhihana 6 bhaje bed mai gayera mock interview practice.

Kaile daro gali, kaile future nei gaako jastei hune, atti tension, ani frustration

Embassy gaiyo, 7 people mero visa lageko sathi haru and my mom, ani ek jahana vai. Malai chai yo biheko janti gaako jasto feel laghirathiyo

“I already got my visa approved, I just need to go there and bring that green slip”

June 21st, 2022, 1:30 PM

7 jhana agadhi ma, embassy pachiyo, feri teti bela nei toilet jahan parne malai, gaye, interview hall sunsan cha, koi caina. Toilet gaako feri tyo sensor wala hand wash raicha, kasto achamma. 2 cups water drink gare, ani yeso guard dai jahna guff diye.

Sabai biometric, vaye pachi, I sent to counter no. 10 (American-Mexican; Chinese)

VO: Where are you going?

Me: I am going to Norwich Univeristy

VO: How did you find about this university?

Me: Among other universities that I have applied to and got admitted to, I chose Norwich University mainly because of its well-designed course curriculum, where I am getting to study the concepts of advanced UX/UI Design Thinking which perfectly matches my career interest as I want to become an advanced developer in the future.

At, Norwich I have also gotten almost a full-tuition scholarship for the entire bachelors for studying computer science.

VO: Why not others? Me: In other universities, I only got less than 50% scholarship, but at Norwich, I have got almost full tuition, which is very affordable.

VO: What are your plan after graduation?

Me: I have already built a learning platform for high school students and I want to make it more advanced in the future so that everyone can easily access resources all over Nepal.
