10 Social -- Human Development Index and Nepal

HDI is  the scale which measure the level of development and composite statistic of life expectancy, education and PCI which are used to rank countries into four tiers of human development.
The concept of HDI was developed by the Pakistani economist Mahbub ul Hag and Indian economist Amartya Sen.

The parameters to access HDI are:
        - Life expectancy.
        - Education or knowledge availability.
        - PCI of the concerned people of a country.

In South Asia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh and in the world Chad, Niger, South Korea and Central African Republic have lower HDI figures.Their major challenges are:

• Widespread poverty and unemployment 
• Illiteracy and social backwardness
• Lack of skilled Human Resources and capital
• Lack of good leadership
