Why are the divisions marked on the scale of an AC ammeter not equally spaced?

The A.C. ammeter works on the heating effect of the electric current. The heat produced by the electric current is directly proportional to the square of the current. Hence the divisions marked on the scale of our AC ammeter are not equally spaced. In order to have equally spaced scales, the variation should be linear or heat should be directly proportional to current, which is not the case.

The speed of light does not depend upon the temperature of air but the speed of sound depends on it. Why?

As we know that wave of sound is a mechanical wave and its speed is given by

v = (γRT/M)

whereas the wave of light is an electromagnetic wave and its speed is given by

c = (1/εoμo)

So speed of sound depends on temperature of air but speed of light doesn't.
